15 Days from Sarajevo Through the Balkans
Fifteen days. Four countries. One journey that starts in the Ottoman heart of Sarajevo, crosses the Drina into Serbia, climbs into the mountains of Montenegro, descends to the walled bay of Kotor, and ends with a farewell dinner over the lit bridge in Mostar. This is the complete arc — the one that does not skip the mountains, rush the coast, or soften the history.
You will walk Sarajevo's civilizations corridor and hear the siege explained by someone who lived through it. You will cross Andrić's UNESCO bridge on the Drina and read aloud from the novel. You will ride a figure-8 railway through 22 tunnels, sleep at the highest town in the Balkans, optionally raft the deepest canyon in Europe, and climb the walls of Kotor and Dubrovnik before the cruise ships arrive.

The most demanding physical segments are the Kotor city walls (1,355 steps), the Dubrovnik walls (1.94 km in full sun), and the Black Lake walk at altitude. Žabljak sits at 1,450m — guests with serious cardiac or respiratory conditions should consult a doctor. Tara rafting (Day 8) is optional. Otherwise the daily pace is manageable for most travellers in reasonable health.
Day 3 covers the Siege of Sarajevo through the Tunnel of Hope. Optional content includes Gallery 11/07/95, which covers the Srebrenica genocide. This content is handled with full care but is emotionally demanding by nature. Opt-out is available for any individual segment.
